Chat Elvira, is an online real-time chat reference service that provides direct, professional assistance to the academic community who are seeking information, wherever and whenever they need it.
Chat ELVIRA, is an acronym for Electronic Library Virtual Assistant which is powered by Facebook Messenger. ELVIRA is the avatar used by the library ‘virtual assistant’ or persona that users interact with, though it is the library personnel who answer the queries sent through a messenger.
Chat ELVIRA is named after Elvira Quinio, the first documented librarian of the Batangas State University in the 1950s.
